Food, Community & West Wales

A celebration of Welsh food and sustainable living

Fishguard Bay Food Festival 2026 takes place on Saturday 10 October at Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard, running from 10am to 4pm.

The festival brings together more than 50 Welsh food, drink and artisan producers alongside street food, chef demonstrations, producer talks, live music and family activities.

Organised by the volunteer-led Fishguard Bay Sustainable Food Initiative CIC, the event also has a strong community and sustainability focus, using food to support local producers, education and wider community projects.

What To Expect

Producers, demonstrations and plenty to taste

The festival is designed as a broad food day out rather than simply a producers’ market, with opportunities to eat, learn and meet the people behind Welsh food and drink.

50+ Welsh Producers

Browse Welsh food, drink and artisan producers, with a strong focus on local businesses and products made in Wales.

Chef Demonstrations & Talks

Live cookery demonstrations and producer talks explore ingredients, skills, food stories and sustainable production.

Family Activities & Music

Family activities, live entertainment and music make the festival suitable for visitors who want more than a traditional food market.

2026 Theme

PGI Welsh Foods and Welsh produce

The organisers are developing the 2026 programme around PGI Welsh Foods and Welsh Produce, highlighting the quality, heritage and distinctive identity of food made and grown in Wales.

Welsh food heritage

Previous festival programmes have explored traditional food skills, farming, fishing, seaweed, fermentation, growing food and the wider heritage behind Welsh produce.

Sustainability

Sustainable food production, local supply chains and supporting producers remain central themes of the festival and the organising initiative.

Programme update: the date, venue and core 2026 format are confirmed, while the full chef, speaker, entertainment and producer programme is still being developed and will be announced closer to the festival.

More Than A Festival

Supporting Fishguard’s local food community

Fishguard Bay Food Festival began in 2023 and led to the creation of the Fishguard Bay Sustainable Food Initiative in 2024. The volunteer-led Community Interest Company now runs both the festival and wider community food projects.

Money generated through the organisation is reinvested into community food work, including Ford Pawb, the community kitchen at Fishguard Town Hall.
