One of Britain’s longest-established forest rallies returns to North Wales for its 71st edition, with nine competitive stages, 48 stage miles and a high-profile start and finish on Llandudno Promenade.

Forest stages, championships and a seafront finish
The Cambrian Rally 2026 takes place on Saturday 24 October, with the National and Interclub fields leaving Llandudno Promenade from 8:01am.
Organised by North Wales Car Club, the 2026 event is the 71st running of the Cambrian Rally and forms part of several major rally championships, including the Motorsport UK British Rally Championship and the Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship.
Competitors face nine special stages covering 48 competitive miles, with the wider one-day itinerary extending to around 181 miles including road sections between stages.
2026 Route
Nine stages through Conwy and Denbighshire
The 2026 route is a compact one-day challenge across North Wales, with four separate stage locations used within Conwy and Denbighshire.
Brenig & Hiraethog
The route includes a stage at Brenig and sections of Hiraethog, giving crews a demanding mix of fast, technical forest roads.
Gwydyr Forest Returns
Two stages use the Gwydyr Forest complex, which the organisers say has not hosted Cambrian Rally stages since 2019.
Championships
A major round of British and Welsh rallying
The Cambrian attracts top crews because it sits on several important championship calendars and offers one of the most established gravel rallies in the UK.
British Rally Championship
The National event is a round of the Motorsport UK British Rally Championship, bringing leading crews to the North Wales stages.
Welsh Rally Championship
The Interclub event forms part of the Motorsport UK Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship alongside other national and regional series.
Stellantis Rally Cup
The 2026 rally also hosts the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup for competitors from Ireland and the UK.
Llandudno Start & Finish
See the rally cars on the Promenade
Llandudno remains the public face of the Cambrian Rally. The National and Interclub fields start from the Promenade in the morning and return there for the finish later in the day.
Rally HQ and the media centre are based at Venue Cymru, while pre-event scrutineering and other activity also take place around Llandudno on the Friday before the rally.
Service Park
Ruthin hosts the main service area
The main service area is at Ruthin Livestock Market. The first car is scheduled to arrive for service at approximately 12:26pm, giving teams a tightly controlled window to work on the cars before the afternoon stages.
The service park is an important operational part of the rally, but access and spectator arrangements can change. Check the official spectator information before travelling specifically to Ruthin.
